Women have historically not had the same educational opportunities as men. For a significant period, women did not have access to education at all. In fact, until recently, many colleges did not even admit women. Luckily, times have changed. Generally, colleges and other educational institutions have created several programs aimed at supporting women. Apart from that, there are also many free scholarships for women to pursue undergraduate or graduate studies. Overall, the purpose of these scholarships is to level the playing field for women to pursue their goals.
Free Scholarships For Women
1. MPOWER Women in STEM Scholarship
Women who are currently studying or accepted to study full-time in a STEM degree program are eligible for this scholarship. Overall, the program awards $500 to $3,000 scholarships to three scholars yearly.

2. Dynamic Edge Women in STEM Scholarship
Similarly, this award is open to women pursuing STEM-related programs. However, only women from Michigan and Tennessee are selected. Overall, the award provides up to $2,000 each for two scholars.

3. GoSkills Scholarship
Additionally, this scholarship is open to female high school and college students who want to start their own online business. Overall, the award provides up to $2,000.

4. Learner Education Women in Mathematics Scholarship
This award is open to female high school seniors or undergraduates who plan to study mathematics. Overall, the award provides up to $1,000.

5. Patsy Takemoto Mink Award
This is also for low-income mothers pursuing an associate’s, bachelor’s, master’s or doctoral degree. Overall, the award provides up to $5,000.

6. $1,000 Vicki Sartin’s Purpose in Nursing Scholarship
In order to qualify for this scholarship, you must be a single moms working towards a degree in nursing. Overall, the award provides up to $1000.

7. “Making Waves” Scholarship for Women
Women currently attending high school, college, technical/vocational, or graduate school are eligible to apply. Overall, the award provides up to $500.

8. Paliwal Club of 100 STEAM Scholarship
Additionally, this scholarship is eligible for female college and graduate students in S.T.E.A.M-related majors. The award provides $750 to $1.500 for five scholars.

9. Education Support Award
Also, this award is for low-income mothers (with underage children) pursuing an associate’s, bachelor’s, master’s or doctoral degree. Overall, the award provides up to $5,000.

10. Paliwal Club of 100 (Music) Scholarship
This is open to women pursuing careers in the music industry – whether as artists, performers, songwriters, producers, or in business. The award provides between $500 and $2,000 to scholars.

11. Women in Aviation International Scholarships
Women who plan to pursue a STEM degree are equally eligible to apply. However, applicants must be part of Women in Aviation International. The award provides between $500 – $14,800 to scholars.

12. Elevate Women in Technology Scholarship
This award is open to female high school seniors, college students, and graduate students pursuing a STEM degree. Overall, the award provides up to $500.

13. American Association of University Women (AAUW) Scholarships and Grants
This is equally open to women who are pursuing graduate education in the U. S. The amount awarded to scholars varies.

14. Automotive Women’s Alliance Foundation Education Scholarship
This is open to North American women who are interested in pursuing a career or promotion in the automotive industry. Overall, the award provides up to $2,500.

15. Women’s Army Corps Veterans’ Association Scholarship
This scholarship is uniquely open to female high school seniors who are related to any Army service woman. Overall, the award provides up to $2,500.

16. BHW Scholarship
Similarly, this scholarship is open to women who are pursuing an undergraduate or master’s degree in STEM fields. Overall, the award provides up to $3,000.

17. National Federation of Republican Women (NFRW) National Pathfinder Scholarship
This is equally open to female undergraduates, sophomores, juniors, seniors, and students pursuing a master’s degree. Overall, the award provides up to $2,500 each for three scholars.

18. Women in Skilled Trades Scholarship
Female students enrolled in an RSI (refrigeration training) program who have proved financial need after completing the FAFSA are eligible. Overall, the award provides up to $3,000.

19. Women With Promise Scholarship
This is open to college students from the Dallas Fort-Worth Metroplex who have partnered with a social agency. Overall, the award provides up to $5,000.

20. Helen Lansdowne Resor Scholarship
Finally, this is open to female undergraduate marketing students who have at least 12 months till graduation. The award includes $10,000, one-on-one mentorship, and an eight-week paid internship.
